Pathway

Wisdom of Faith is a pathway for university students and young professionals interested in their human, intellectual and spiritual formation. Anchored in the vitality of the present, it draws from the richness of Catholic experience and thought by promoting it.

The Name

“May the Seat of Wisdom be a sure haven for all who devote their lives to the search for wisdom” (Fides et Ratio)

The name Wisdom of Faith is in the English language not only because we are open to the widest international interactions, but because the term ‘Wisdom’ best expresses three meanings that lie at the heart of our project: intelligence, knowledge and wisdom. Intelligence is a natural gift, knowledge is acquired through disciplined study and thoughtful experience, and wisdom is a gift infused by the Holy Spirit. One needs this combination in order to live an existence linked to reality and capable of transforming it according to a project of goodness.

Faith and Reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of truth”. (Fides et Ratio)

The path of Wisdom of Faith is not about Wisdom alone, but the symbiosis between Wisdom and Faith. It is the desire for the truth that creates in us a need that cannot be neglected, that of deepening our faith in the search for something that transcends our everyday reality. It is through a deep-rooted knowledge of our spirituality that we can find our deepest identity and arrive at the full truth about ourselves.

The Pathway

It is aimed at all young university students or professionals who aspire to something more: to enhance their education to become the ruling class of the future.

The pathway develops into an annual program structured in meetings – twice a month – of cultural, political and spiritual nature, as well as a residential formation period – the Fall School – and other activities as institutional visits and hikes. Speakers include personalities from the International Community, States, Church, Academia, Market and Civil Society.

Monthly multidisciplinary formation meetings are organized with professionals who are experts in their field in order to inspire a critical sense of the reality in the young people involved. The topics of the meetings range from politics to economics, from law to philosophy and from art to culture.

Every six months, young people can participate to cultural visits in different places which may range from the headquarters of institutions to sites of particular cultural and religious significance. Excursion-type outings are also proposed to facilitate fraternal dialogue within the beauty of Creation.

Monthly meetings are held to accompany young people on a path of spiritual deepening. These meetings are opportunities where guests from the world of the Church address different religious topics and occasions to share moments of prayer. The spirit of friendship and sharing encourages young people to come closer to the experience of faith.

The Fall School consists of a four-day formation event and serves as an occasion of junction and synthesis of the annual activities, aimed to elaborate tomorrow's perspectives. Each edition of the Fall School has a broad theme to which the themes of the meetings in the cultural, political and religious fields are connected.
